- A 3-step plan to ease Alert Level 3 restrictions in Auckland has been introduced. Step 1 came into effect at 11:59pm on 5 October.
- Hamilton and North West Waikato are in Alert Level 3.
- The rest of New Zealand is in Alert Level 2. Some Alert Level 2 guidance has changed for hospitality and events.
