Resurgence Support Payments increased

The amount and frequency of the Resurgence Support Payment is increasing from 12 November and will be available until Auckland moves into the new COVID-19 Protection Framework.

A new round of the Wage Subsidy has also opened.

More support for Auckland businesses

Extra support will be available for Auckland businesses from mid-November, via a $60 million business support package. Eligible Auckland business will be able to apply for:
  • advice and planning support,
  • implementation of that advice, and
  • health and wellbeing support.

Compulsory employer deductions for child support

It is now compulsory for employers to deduct child support payments from newly liable parents' salaries or wages. Inland Revenue (IR) will contact you if you're required to make any deductions. See details about this and other IR updates.

Road user charges payments made easier

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has updated its system to enable you to buy up to six road user charges (RUC)  licences with one payment.

You'll receive a temporary label for each purchase.

Mandated workplace vaccinations

New legislation is coming in at the end of November to mandate vaccinations for workers at businesses where customers need to show COVID-19 vaccination certificates. For other businsses, a new process will be created later this year about how to assess if work needs to be carried out by a vaccinated worker. In the meantime:

  • encourage staff to check their vaccination records on My Covid Record.
  • see guidance on how to make an interim risk assessment under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
